Terms of Use
Effective 10 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Quantum Code (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/025181/07, “we”), which operates MeanRadius. By using the site or apps you agree to them. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act that can't legally be limited.
1. Safety first — read this
Every number MeanRadius gives you is an estimate.
- Ballistic tables, DOPE cards, scope adjustments and group statistics are calculated from models and from the measurements you enter. Wrong inputs, unmodelled effects (spin drift, Coriolis, incline, ammunition variation, scope tracking) and rounding all cause real-world error.
- Always confirm your data by shooting on paper at the range before relying on it — especially before hunting, where a miscalculated shot can wound an animal.
- You are solely responsible for safe firearm handling and for complying with the Firearms Control Act, 2000, its regulations, your licence conditions, provincial hunting and conservation rules, and the rules and range officers of any range or match you shoot at.
- Never rely on MeanRadius to judge whether a shot or backstop is safe.
2. Using MeanRadius
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- The analyser and ballistic calculator are free and need no account.
- Keep your sign-in details private; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, access other people's data, or upload unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that do.
- You own the photos and data you upload. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the service for you (and to show them to anyone you share a link with).
3. Premium subscriptions
- Premium is billed in South African rand through Paystack on the web (card), or through the App Store / Google Play in our apps. The price and billing period are shown before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel anytime from Billing → Manage subscription (or your app store); you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds and cooling-off: if you cancel within 7 days of first subscribing on the web, you can ask for a full refund of that payment (Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, section 44) by emailing hello@quantumcode.co.za. After that, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise; cancelling stops future renewals and you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded under those stores' own policies.
- We'll give you reasonable notice before changing the price of an existing subscription.
4. Availability and changes
We work to keep MeanRadius available and accurate, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue Premium we'll refund unused paid time.
5. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from relying on calculated outputs without verifying them as described in section 1. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This doesn't exclude liability for gross negligence or anything else that can't be excluded under South African law.
6. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may close accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
8. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If we change them materially we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
